Individuals who run are aware of the injuries that can arise from poor running form. Regardless of the distance, you’re training for. Whether you’re preparing for a 5K or an ultra marathon, it’s essential to mobilize and strengthen your running muscles. Yes, you can gain the strength and mobility needed to optimize your running performance from running. However, studies have yet to show a consistent correlation between the benefits of mobility and strength training and running performance. There seem to be far fewer injuries across the board for runners at all levels and all ages when including strength training in a running program. Strength training improves your overall fitness and prevents injuries too. Especially in your lower back area while running with a stronger developed core from your strength routine or while practicing barefoot running!
