What is foam rolling?
Foam rolling eliminates muscle fascia tension, adhesions, and a restricted range of motion in your major muscle groups.
What is the purpose of foam rolling?
Foam rolling drills help to reduce muscle soreness after a workout and keep your body limber and loose throughout the workday and between runs.
A few more perks? Foam rolling CAN reduce muscle inflammation and increase the range of motion in your joints when done daily and consistently as a part of your movement routine.
Foam rolling can reduce sports injuries and promote quicker recovery, leading to faster fitness gains! Foam rolling can help your posture while performing daily life tasks, from your body’s ability to better move your major muscles and joints!
Science-based evidence has found that foam rolling can improve chronic flexibility when performed daily and consistently.
When is a good time to foam roll?
When I worked in Corporate America, I sat at a desk for 8+ hours a day.
Can you relate?
Like many of you, I suffered from chronic tension in my lower back, upper back, and hips and had a dead butt. My glutes were never existent.
Sound familiar? I get it!
Good news? You can fix all of this right NOW!
Grab your foam roller and follow along with the below rolling foam video 2x/day for three weeks straight. If you're not able to move your body better by that 3-week mark, I'd love to hear from you! Please email me!
Why is foam rolling good for you?
There are many benefits of using a foam roller.
My top four benefits are below:
1. Enhance your range of motion in all of your major joints
According to a scientifically based study, foam rolling has proven to increase the range of motion of your major joints and promote blood flow to your muscles! Even though studies have found the benefits of foam rolling are short-term, this gives you more reason to foam-roll before your runs! Take advantage and reap the benefits of foam rolling after running!
As a result, look forward to living a healthier, happier life when you're able to move better and run farther and faster injury-free!
2. Improve muscle soreness after your runs and workouts
After a hard workout, delayed onset muscle soreness is a thing. 24-48 hours after your training is typically when this occurs. Help your body recover quicker by foam rolling after every workout for 15 minutes at a time. Foam roll after a long-distance run or after an intense workout. Doing this will help you stay consistent with your workout routine. You will be able to perform soon by recovering faster!
3. Relax your mind and your body
Are you feeling a bit unmotivated to get out of the door during the dark winter months? Does this heighten your anxiety? I hear you! Foam rolling allows your mind to take the space it needs to do nothing but enjoy the feeling of priming your muscles for your runs. What a game-changer!
Please don't take my word for it. Try it out yourself right here!
4. Run farther and run faster injury-free
Foam rolling will help you to move better and recover quicker. It allows you to improve your running performance. Whether your goal is to run farther without getting injured or snag a new personal best while running your next 5K, foam rolling will work in your favor!
Recovery is just as important as the fitness aspect of your training routine. Allow your body to recover from the stress you put it through while running by foam rolling before and after your runs!
Start using a foam roller while watching my video right here as a part of your daily morning and bedtime routine. Say hello to quicker recovery and bye to sore muscles and injuries for GOOD!
